Wikileaks and Julian Assange

I'm very interested, as you may know, about the part that Wikileaks and Julian Assange plays on the world stage. The BBC says very little on these matters and if you relied solely on the BBC you wouldn't know that Assange has been holed up in the Ecudorian embassy for two years now.

In this posting I refer to recent pieces of information, together with links to them.

1. An interview with Eva Joly, a magistrate and the Green Party candidate for the French presidency in 2012. She talks about her growing interest in the Julian Assange situation and fears for his health. She also feels that the position of the Swedish government in this matter is not sound.

She pours scorn on the assertion from some quarters that Julian is safe from being extradited from Sweden to the USA.

Here is a transcript for those that prefer text to videos.

2. A two-part transcript of the press conference that Eva Joly gave on the matter the following day.

Part One
Part Two

3. An interview with Julian Assange on Swedish televison from 2011 that is still relevant.
