A number of senior White Helmets were present at Atareb Hospital, Aleppo on 26 August 2013, where they were filmed by BBC cameraman Darren Conway. Journalist Vanessa Beeley has amply demonstrated that the White Helmets (aka the "Syria Civil Defence" - a title purloined from an extant, legitimate Syrian organisation) are a western-funded construct, producing propaganda to manipulate public opinion in favour of a "no-fly zone", leading to "regime change" in Syria and beyond. Acclaimed documentary filmmaker and journalist John Pilger has described the White Helmets as a �complete propaganda construct� and even right wing Fox News has conceded that the White Helmets are "not always the most reliable" and possess "their own agenda".

  *   Among those filmed by Conway at Atareb was White Helmets Deputy Head Mounir Mustafa. A senior ambassador for the "unarmed and neutral" White Helmets, Mustafa was f�ted by US Senator Bernie Sanders in April 2017. In 2013 Mustafa was photographed alongside an unknown gunman and a former Reuters freelance photographer, Amer Alfaj, who has himself been photographed attending the firing of a Hell Cannon mortar and who celebrated the munition in grotesque images such as these.

Groups and organisations which appear to have been present at Atareb Hospital on 26 August 2013 include: ISIS; the al-Qaeda linked Ahrar al-Sham, which provided security for the BBC Panorama team despite being described by the BBC elsewhere as a "hardline Islamist" group; the Army of Mujahideen-affiliated Ansar Brigade; the Free Aleppo Governorate Council; the White Helmets and the BBC.

The presentation is packed with information and the the 19-minute clip is definitely worth watching in its entirety, but for me the real clincher comes at around the four-minute mark after Stuart explains what burn victims tend to look and behave like, and he simply turns the sound off on the video footage and replays it with the question �just ask yourself, is this real?�
