Any takers?

This is a bit of a long shot but you never know...! This is an interesting item broadcast by Democracy Now! on 2 June. WikiLeaks Launches Campaign to Offer $100,000 "Bounty" for Leaked Drafts of Secret TPP Chapters.

The campaign to support whistleblowers

Readers will be interested in this tweet from Wikileaks. It contains a link to a Call for Submissions on the Protection of Sources and Whistleblowers by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression. CCR stands for Centre for Constitutional Rights which is an estimable US Human Rights group. Here is the link to the WL tweet:

Legacy of the Vietnam War

Campaigning against the Vietnam War, which also included campaigning against the wars in Cambodia and Laos, played a big part in my youth. Most young people in the UK know nothing about the war and I think the same in true in the USA.

On 25 May 2015 Democracy Now! broadcast some important items concerning the war and its legacy. Here is the link:

Sorry about the delay in putting this on my blog.

Private Eye on Sun's Charles Kennedy hypocrisy

Readers may have overlooked a recent Private Eye article concerning the recent death of Charles Kennedy. Most of us would consider calling the Sun hypocritical as being gross tautology. Anyway, you might enjoy PE's comments via this link:

Oppose TTIP!

Not many of us know about TTIP - the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. It's essentially a trade deal between the EU and North America. The TBI is in favour of it and that's a big clue as to where we should stand. the pressure group 38 Degrees has done a wonderful job in putting TTIP on the political agenda whereas the corporate media want to keep quiet about it.

I suggest that all of us interested in this matter should make contact with their MEPs because they are dealing with the matter right now. Here is the link:

Which Apartheid state is worse: Israel or the former South Africa?

This extract from Democracy Now! broadcast 6 May 2015 - some time ago now, I'm sorry - is well worth listening to. It's not often that a UN person will point out that life for those under Israel's control is often worse than those living in Apartheid South Africa.
